Purpose: 10-item test that assesses dynamic balance and postural stability during gait

Diagnoses Assessed:

  • Stroke
  • Parkinson's Disease
  • SCI's
  • Vestibular Disorders
  • Geriatrics

Disease-Specific Statistical Breakdown:

Stroke:

  • SEM=1.52
  • MDC=4.2 (or 14.1% change)
  • Test-retest reliability=.95

Parkinson's Disease:

  • SEM=.22
  • MDC=.61
  • Cut-off scores:
    • 15/30 or less indicate increased risk of falls
  • Inter-rater reliability=.93

Vestibular Disorders:

  • MCID=8
  • Intra-rater reliability=.83
  • Inter-rater reliability=.84
  • Internal consistency=.79

Geriatrics:

  • Cut-off scores:
    • 22/30 or less represents a higher risk of falls
  • Inter-rater reliability=.93
